Install the extension from the Cutra download

Download and unzip the extension. In Chrome, open the Extensions page, enable Developer mode, choose Load unpacked, and select the extracted folder containing manifest.json. Open Cutra, reload your YouTube tab, and mark a short test selection. This is a direct extension download, not a Chrome Web Store listing.

How to save your clip

  1. Open Cutra and paste the original YouTube video URL.
  2. Choose the start and end. Select Video for MP4 or Audio for MP3.
  3. Add any other selections, save, and preview the finished files.

Can the extension download clips on its own?

No. It sends selections to the desktop app, which must be running to receive and process them.

Do I have to install the extension?

No. Paste the YouTube URL directly into Cutra for the same video or audio selection workflow.

Use sources you own or have permission to use and follow the source platform’s terms. Private, protected, removed, or restricted videos may be unavailable. Cutra collects source clips; finish captions, cropping, and publishing in your editor.
