Windows waitlist

When you join the Windows waitlist, we store your email address and signup time to contact you about Windows availability. We check for duplicate signups. You can ask us to remove your address at [email protected] at any time.

What stays on your computer

Cutra processes video and audio files locally and stores the resulting clips in your chosen local library. The library is not a cloud media storage service. Keeping files local does not mean that no information is sent to Cutra or third-party providers.

Information we receive

Purchase information includes your checkout email and purchase or license status. New customers do not create a Cutra account. Existing authentication records may remain for retention purposes. The backend receives installation identifiers, clip source URLs, selected time ranges, job status, processing duration, file size, transfer speed, diagnostic logs, and network information such as IP address and country. Support messages are linked to your installation and, when licensed, your purchase record. We store your message and any screenshot you choose to attach; do not include private information you do not want our support team to receive.

Polar handles checkout and payment details. We receive purchase information needed to activate licenses, maintain records, and process refunds; we do not directly collect your full payment card number.

Website analytics and external content

With your permission, the landing page uses PostHog and Microsoft Clarity to understand page visits, clicks, navigation, performance, and usage. Optional analytics does not start until you select Allow analytics. Select Essential only to decline, or change your choice using Privacy settings in the footer; declining stops analytics on the reloaded page. It does not erase previously collected records or provider cookies, which you can clear in your browser. These services may use cookies or similar identifiers and collect device, browser, IP, and interaction information, including session replay data where enabled.

YouTube embeds and externally hosted thumbnails or avatars connect your browser to their providers. Those providers may receive your IP address, browser details, and identifiers according to their own policies. Why we use this information

We use information to validate licenses, deliver purchase emails, process clipping requests and account entitlements, diagnose failures, prevent abuse, answer support requests, handle refunds, and improve the product. Where applicable privacy law requires a legal basis, this processing relies on performing our agreement with you, legitimate operational and security interests, legal obligations, or consent where required.

Service providers and sharing

Cutra uses providers including Cloudflare for website and delivery infrastructure, Polar for payments, Resend for purchase emails, and PostHog and Microsoft Clarity for analytics. Information is shared as needed for these services, legal requirements, or protecting users and systems. We do not sell your local media files. Providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where a transfer requires safeguards under applicable law, those safeguards must apply; contact us for information about the providers and arrangements relevant to your data.

Retention and security

We keep account, license, support, and operational records for as long as needed for their purposes, dispute resolution, security, and legal obligations. Retention depends on the type of information; purchase records may need to remain after an account closes. Local media remains on your computer until you remove it.

We use access controls and other reasonable safeguards, but no system can guarantee absolute security. Keep your device, license key, and backups secure.

Your choices and rights

You can manage local files and browser storage on your device. We store your analytics preference and selected landing-page language in local storage so it is remembered on your next visit. Removing the app or clearing browser storage does not itself delete server-side account, license, or support records; email us to request deletion. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict processing of personal information, object to certain uses, or withdraw consent. Email [email protected] to make a request. We may need to verify your identity and retain records that the law requires. You may also complain to your local privacy regulator.

Children and policy changes

Cutra is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Contact us if you believe a child has provided it. We will update this policy when our practices change and publish the updated date here, with additional notice where required.
